Poetry Altars: Ritual, Memory and the Poetic Object

In this generative, hands-on workshop, we will create miniature poetry altars – intimate vessels of language, memory, and transformation. Rooted in ritual and shaped by justice, poetry altars invite us to grieve, remember, and imagine otherwise.
Together, we’ll explore how fragments, found objects, and poetic lines can become a space for healing, an altar to the unsaid. Participants will engage with examples, write in response to prompts, and assemble a small altar using meaningful materials.
No prior experience necessary, just a willingness to listen deeply and honor what arises.
Come as you are. Leave with something sacred.
